Agricultural Engineers
Students apply their knowledge of living organisms and life cycles to design challenges. As agricultural engineers the Cooper's intermediate problem solvers design ways to help pollinate flowers. Younger students use recyclable materials to create terrariums that has everything a plant needs to grow.

WindsailsFirst graders learn about force and motion. Objects can move up and down, side to side, and in circular motions. There are different sources to provide forces. The wind is a renewable resource that can be used to move a raft. Students explore various materials, shapes, and sizes to design a sail that will catch enough wind to move the raft 8 feet in 30 seconds.

Coal CarsVirginia's regions are interdependent. Each region has industries that supply products that other regions need or want. One way to transport products from place to place is by rail. Student engineers use math skills to design coal cars with a coupling system to join train cars together and move coal along the test track.
